As part of the State of New Mexico executive branch, the Department of Cultural Affairs advertises and recruits for all classified positions through the State of New Mexico Job Opportunities web page managed by the State Personnel Office, which provides resources and instruction on finding job opportunities s and completing applications through the system.

Governor Exempt Positions with DCA

In the State of New Mexico personnel system, Governoror Exempt positions are at-will positions not covered by the Personnel Act (Section 10-9-4 NMSA 1978).

There are presently no active recruitments for Governor Exempt positions.

State Librarian (applications accepted through April 29, 2018)

The State Library of New Mexico, a Division in the Department of Cultural Affairs, seeks an enthusiastic advocate for libraries to fill the position of State Librarian. We seek a leader with experience and capacity building skills for librarians throughout a state with rural, urban, and Tribal libraries. The successful candidate will administer relevant and valued services to over 100 public and Tribal libraries in New Mexico and will generally promote an effective statewide library system. more »
