Stargazers Planner: Space Science Events happening at Museum of Natural History & Science

(Albuquerque, New Mexico ) – Between now and the end of January there are several major space science events, and the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science is the place to experience them.
InSight landing on Mars Monday, November 26 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Learn about the landing of the latest mission to study the surface of Mars during a live NASA broadcast. Mars-related hands-on activities and videos available
Planetarium Laser Shows - Friday through Friday, December 14 – 21, Experience Holiday toons and classic rock concerts choreographed to laser-light images. The band Pink Freud will perform Pink Floyd songs live along with the laser on December 15.
New Horizons Encounters Ultima Thule - Wednesday, January 2, | [time TBA by NASA]. The New Horizons spacecraft will pass one more Kuiper Belt object on its way to deep space. Thirteen years outbound from Earth and a billion miles past Pluto, NASA’s New Horizons probe is healthy and on course for a historic flyby of its next target, a frozen remnant left over from the birth of the solar system 4.6 billion years ago, project scientists say.
Total Lunar Eclipse - Sunday, January 20, 8:30 – 11:45 a.m., Witness a total eclipse of the moon through telescopes around the museum grounds. (weather permitting)
