The NHCC Welcomes Maryam Faghihimani As Part of The McCain Institute for International Leadership Next Generation Leaders Program

October 5th, 2017

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) will welcome Maryam Faghihimani between October 2017 and July 2018 as part of the McCain Institute for International Leadership’s Next Generation Leaders (NGL) program, which is designed to promote character-driven, global leadership for mid-career professionals from the United States and around the world who are seeking tailored professional and personal development in the U.S.

Faghihimani is from Iran and is the founder and president The Center for Cultural Diplomacy and Development (CCDD), a non-profit, non-partisan, public benefit organization that enables individuals to learn about the culture and society of several Middle Eastern nations. She also serves as the host of a weekly London television show where she discusses Iranian culture, society and politics.

As part of the NGL program, Faghihimani will be assisting the NHCC and consultants in developing a strategic plan and feasibility study for a capital campaign, in addition to helping the NHCC and Tricklock Company prepare for the International Theatre Festival. The NGL program also will give Faghihimani training in ethics, values, leadership, media, and communications, as well as access to the best examples of American business, political, and civic leadership. A key aspect of the program is each Leader’s preparation of an individual Leadership Action Plan, aimed at defining the actions to bring about change that he/she will take upon completion of the program and return home.

The McCain Institute for International Leadership is an institute of Arizona State University and was founded to advance character-driven leadership based on security, economic opportunity, freedom, and human dignity in the United States and around the world. Established in honor of the McCain family’s long and distinguished legacy of public service, the Institute is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
