Backstage Exhibition Tours

Backstage Exhibition Tours take visitors into the workshops and restricted areas of the state museum system in Santa Fe to get a first-hand look at the exhibit development processEach tour covers a distinct development phase: exhibition design, conservation, fabrication/mountmaking, and installation.

The tours are presented by the staff of Museum Resources (MRD), a division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. MRD designs, builds and installs exhibitions for the Museum of International Folk Art, Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, New Mexico Museum of Art, New Mexico History Museum and New Mexico Historic Sites.

Proceeds from the tours help fund professional development opportunities for the Museum Resources staff.

Pricing for each tour is $25 or $85 for all. Museum of New Mexico Foundation Members: $20 for each tour or $75 for all. Call for info at (505) 476-1125 or email us at tours@msdgraphics.com.
